Landing Together films is simplifying science for better communications.
Landing Together is an independent and not-for-profit initiative using the audio-visuals creatively for communicating complex human-nature dimensions.
Who funds?
The film production is self-funded by the director/ producer, Purabi Bose.
To be 100% critical without any institutional propaganda we think making independent documentary films gives an edge. Scientific written stories are often biased, limited in reaching out to masses and even less connected with the people who matters - mostly written and read by the 'intellectuals'. A film reaches out to a wider range of audience making it a powerful tool of documentation.
What makes the Landing Together films unique?
Our films are first of its kind in 70 years of India's Independence to capture the diversity of indigenous peoples and their fragile landscape issues across the country.
Why Landing Together films?
About 250 million traditional people, including adivasis and the Scheduled Tribes, nomadic herders/ pastoralists, are protectors of land, forests, water and biodiversity conservation.
The majority of our protagonists live in and around forests, in rangelands (grasslands and deserts), and in the mountain landscapes that are often rich in natural resources. These diverse landscapes are vulnerable due to the influx of extractive industries, land conflicts and climate variability. How 'developmental changes' going to impact traditional forest dependent people, pastoralists, smallholder men and women farmers, and indigenous youths and communities?
The Landing Together team explores many such critical questions without making any judgements.
Our films lets the audience make an opinion based on their own understanding and from the perspective of our real-life protagonists.

- No Voice-Overs: You will not hear the soft and sexy voice of English narrator in our film. Our films approach is to give voices to people and you would appreciate listening to their stories in their own voice.
- Multilingual: We chose to be multilingual. All protagonists speak in their own language and tribal dialect. We've used over 12 languages in our films with English subtitle.
- Diversity: Our films takes audience to diverse landscapes and cultural and ethnic diversity of Indigenous Peoples.
- No Script: Unlike DocuFiction, our films are free of prescribed script. We allowed the story to evolve without any biases or agenda but by continuously engaging and interacting with the protagonists.
